“I have learned from diseases more than what life would have been able to teach me in any other way.”

J. W. Goethe

According to natural-holistic-spiritual medicine, human beings are not just bodies, they are a complex set of levels of consciousness and energy. These various energy planes (spiritual, mental and emotional) are connected to the physical plane through the etheric body. The etheric body is made of subtle energy structures (nadi, meridians, chakras), which serve the function of carrying vital energy to each organ in the body. Each of these structures is tightly connected to the spheres of our psyche.
Therefore the straightforward correlation between psychic conflicts and effected meridians, chakras and organs is evident: this view gives an extraordinary psychoenergetic understanding of diseases.

The experience of holistic medicine shows that symptoms are a precise language of our inner realm and give us the opportunity to solve unrecognized, removed, or chronic conflicts. Conflicts create an inner tension that contracts the effected meridian and chakra, hence not allowing the related organ to receive sufficient vital energy. Consequently there is an ailment. With this kind of view symptoms are no longer a troublesome obstacle to be fought, but they are merely an alarm bell that point out to us the way to improve our lives and evolution. By understanding their meaning we have the opportunity to solve and heal the conflict that resides deep within us, so that we may increase our awareness and our inner happiness. Having done this, the symptom automatically disappears and the human being reestablishes his/her harmony, making it easier to realize the goal of his/her life, i.e. to realize the Self.

The meeting with ourselves belongs to the more unpleasant things
that can be avoided so long as we project everything negative
into the environment.
But if we are able to see our own shadow and can bear knowing about it,
then a small part of the problem has already been solved.

(C. G. Jung)
